Day 30: You Have A Job To Do

A God Given Mission

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord . . .”
Isaiah 61:1-2a

God has given you a mission to make the world a better place!

Ancient Bible wisdom teaches the moment you're conceived you stand before the throne of God. The Lord gives you a unique and special purpose. No matter what this may be, God has called you to make a difference.

This is what Jesus is teaching about in Matthew 5:16. He said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

In Hebrew, it’s called tikkun olam. Every human being has been given a mission to repair a broken world. That’s your job. Your acts of kindness and charitable giving can change the world of a child, a church, a ministry or even change the direction of an entire nation.

When you leave this life, you will stand before God and He will look at what you did to change the world. I am sure you want to hear, like I do, “well done, thou good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Today’s Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving me a personal mission that will change people’s lives and make this world a better place. Give me Your thoughts, Your wisdom and Your understanding so my whole life will glorify You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
